This painting was created as a deliberate step into expansion—a transition from smaller canvas into a 24" x 30" surface, intended as a bridge toward even larger works. There was no fixed image in mind at the beginning, only the clear intention to work in a grander scale and trust the process.
The composition emerged through intuition.
Faced with the vastness of the canvas, the image found it's anchor in the sky—an expansive atmosphere stretching from light blue into deep, dark blue, suggesting that if the canvas continued, it would dissolve into night and stars. The sky feels immense, alive and infinite.
Below it, a gently curved horizon reveals a sweeping green landscape viewed from flight. The land opens into a vast canyon, layered with increasingly darker greens—deep crevices, fractures, and shadows that extend as far as the eye and brush can reach, giving the sense that the terrain continues endlessly beyond the frame.
Clouds drift through the upper atmosphere, yet they are unlike any seen in nature.
They appear animated and animal-like—splashes of purple and yellow that feel alive, swimming through the sky like fish in a deep ocean. They exist as pure imagination, movement, and inspiration.
In the foreground floats a Hydra-like form, suspended between earth and sky. It has no wings and no human features—no eyes, mouth, ears, or nose—only reflective scales that mirror both the heavens and the land below. Two prominent shapes resemble closed eyes, as if the entire scene is asleep, dreaming itself into existence.
